Concordia Retirement Center is an assisted living community that helps residents maintain a sense of dignity and independence in a warm, homelike atmosphere.

The apartments at Concordia Retirement Center are unfurnished, allowing each resident to express his or her individuality. Suggestions for personal items include toiletries, bed linens, bedspreads, pillows, towels, washcloths and bath rugs; as well as furniture such as bed, recliner chair, rocker, sofa or loveseat, bookshelf, table and chairs, knick-knack shelf, dresser, chest of drawers, wall hangings, radio, television, VCR, bedside stand and telephone. Concordia Retirement Center can supply some furnishings if desired at a monthly cost.

Please feel free to measure the new apartment when you make plans for placement of furniture and belongings.

Visiting hours are unlimited. The facility's front lobby is open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends. Guests visiting after hours can ring the front door bell to obtain entrance into the facility.

Meals are served in the facility dining room or they can be served in residents' rooms during brief periods of illness. Guest meal tickets can be purchased from the business office.

Food items may be brought in and stored in resident's apartments. Food should be stored in appropriate containers and should be labeled and dated.

Smoking is not permitted inside the facility. Concordia Retirement Center is committed to providing a healthy environment for residents, employees, families and visitors. Smoking is permitted in designated areas outside the building.

Outings, activities and special events are always encouraged. To ensure safety, all residents are asked to sign in and out of the facility at the reception credenza.

Transportation is provided by Concordia Retirement Center for shopping, sightseeing, activities and medical appointments. Residents are encouraged to arrange for transportation in advanced with the receptionist.

Enrichment opportunities are provided for residents every day. An activities calendar is posted in the activity room and is available to each resident on a monthly basis.

Staff members are not permitted to accept gifts of money, gratuities or tips. If you wish to donate a gift to the facility, please contact the executive director.

Discharges require a 14-day notice. Adequate advance notice will facilitate a satisfactory discharge. Rent is considered ongoing until all furniture is removed from an apartment.
