Concordia Retirement Center to Host Cinco de Mayo-Themed ‘Open House,’ May 5
Mexican Fiesta with Delicious Food, Party Atmosphere and Door Prizes Open to the Community
BELLA VISTA, Ark. (April 28, 2014) – A Mexican fiesta with delicious food, party atmosphere and door prizes are among the attractions planned for Concordia Retirement Center’s Cinco de Mayo-themed ‘open house’ on Monday, May 5.
“It’s certainly not your typical ‘open house,’ ” said Linda Woollett, Concordia’s marketing director. “At Concordia, we always have a creative theme for our open house. We try to make each of our open houses a spectacular event, bringing people together from the community to connect and have a lot of fun.”
Hosted by Concordia’s residents and staff, the Cinco de Mayo event is free to the public, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., at its beautiful campus on 1 Concordia Drive. The community is invited to mix and mingle, make new friends, and dine on Mexican dinner fare.
Concordia residents will be integrated into the event and serve as ambassadors at each table, answering questions and speaking with prospective residents about life at Concordia. Campus tours will be available for families who are considering the benefits of assisted or independent living for a loved one.
“We find that our Open Houses are a wonderful way for friends and neighbors to get a great glimpse at how much fun we have here at Concordia,” said Jeff Tonack, Concordia’s executive director. “They become reacquainted with folks in their community and really experience a taste of Concordia.”
For the past four years, Concordia Retirement Center has designed themed events such as Octoberfest, an ice cream social and a High English Tea, complete with fine china and scones.
Concordia Retirement Center hosts four open houses each year. Future themes may include a Country Barbecue, Sock Hop and a Roaring 20s party. For information about the Cinco de Mayo Open House, or independent and catered living at Concordia, call (479) 855-3714.
